On 28 April 2016 International Foundation for Protection of Freedom of Speech "Adil soz" with the support of the UNESCO Almaty Office organized celebration of the World Press Freedom Day 2016. The main theme:
Access to Information and Fundamental Freedoms: This Is Your Right!
The press-conference was held at 11 am at the National Press Club, the Message from Ms Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO, on the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day, delivered to the participants.
At the end of the press-conference the planting of trees was organized in national park on Medeo, Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The aim of the action is to improve the situation on access to public information and consolidation of the journalistic community for protecting their professional rights.
