3 February 2017On 2-3 February North Kazakhstan Legal Media Center with the support of UNESCO Almaty Office and the International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC) organized a two-day training in Kazakh language, aimed at the effective use of the right of journalists to access to information in Kyzylorda city.
Training was strengthen the environment for press freedom, journalistic safety and self-regulation for on-line and off-line media.
Print and online journalists of national and regional media outlets have acquired skills and knowledge on legal security of access to the information.
The trainer from the Public Fund International Legal Initiative held activities in Kazak language. The agenda includes:
- The UN standards for the protection of freedom of expression, security and access to information;
- International standards and principles in the area of transparency and accountability, public participation, freedom of information, anti-corruption, recognized by international organizations. The law on access to information;
- The national media legislation. Criminal and civil liability, the safety of journalists on the Internet. Protection of privacy and personal data;
- The international standards of freedom of expression. Ethical standards.
